The Embassy of the Peoples Republic of China for the UK is based in central London. The imposing Edwardian building takes up almost a whole block. The building has large windows and impressive period features. The UK first recognised the P.R.C in 1950 and there has been a continuous relationship between the two countries ever since. One of the highlights of this was the handover of Hong-Kong back to China in 1997. The Chinese Embassy in the UK is the hub of UK Chinese relations, as well as the powerhouse of Sino-UK trade. |
